Claude Code with Opus 5.5 writes the animation as code. Remotion turns that code into an MP4. Here is the setup and the prompts.
- 01
Prompt
Describe your video as numbered scenes.
- 02
Claude writes React code
Each scene becomes a component.
- 03
Remotion preview
Watch it live in Remotion Studio.
- 04
Tweak
Ask for slower, bigger text or a new scene.
- 05
Render MP4
Export the final video.
1. How it works
Claude does not generate video pixels. It writes React code with Remotion, and Remotion renders that code into an MP4.
That makes every scene a component. So you can say "change scene 3" and Claude edits just that part.
Do this today: remember the rule. Scenes are code. Edits are cheap.
2. Set it up
You need a paid Claude plan for Claude Code. Select Opus 5.5.
Create a Remotion project:
npx create-video@latest
Inside the project, install Remotion's official agent skills:
npx skills add remotion-dev/skills
Open the live preview:
npx remotion studio
Open Claude Code in the same folder with claude, then paste a prompt. Without the skills, Claude can still write Remotion code, but it may use wrong or outdated API calls.
Do this today: run the commands and see the preview open.

3. Prompt tips
- Be specific. Vague prompts give default-looking videos. Give scene timings, headline text, colors and fonts.
- Think in scenes. Each scene is a component.
- Iterate. Ask for "slower", "add a scene" or "bigger text". Each change is a quick edit and re-render.
- Check before you render. Ask for a contact sheet of stills to catch overlaps.
Do this today: write your brief as numbered scenes before you prompt.
4. Three starter prompts
These are starting points. Edit the brackets and expect to iterate.
Launch video:
Act as a senior motion designer. Build a 30-second launch video for [PRODUCT] in Remotion. 1080x1920. Brand colors: [HEX]. Fonts: [FONT]. No footage. Storyboard first: problem, the usual fix, the turn, how it works, call to action. One idea per scene. Add a sound effect on every hit, synced to one timing file. Show me a contact sheet before render.
Animated logo reveal:
Create a 5-second logo reveal in Remotion. Particles pull together into [LOGO FILE] on a dark background, then a soft glow and a tagline fades in: [TAGLINE].
Lower thirds:
Build three broadcast-style lower thirds in Remotion for [NAME / TITLE]. Slide in from the left, hold 3 seconds, slide out. Match these colors: [HEX].
Do this today: run the logo reveal. It is the smallest.

6. Good to know
"One prompt" videos usually come from long, detailed prompts and several follow-up edits. Plan for 2 or 3 rounds of edits, not one.
Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan. The chat app can write the code but cannot run it. Rendering needs Node.js and ffmpeg, and Remotion bundles ffmpeg.
For more on that limit, read Claude's viral motion video and the one-prompt myth.
